the War of 1812-1815 and discusses the way the Revolution
reset the North American geopoThelitical world. Economic
relations and the way in which the new country interacted
with its former colonial ruler are outlined and how
these varied issues shaped this second conflict are
detailed.

second podcast takes the story from this war to the
end of the American Civil War. It discusses the series
of minor skirmishes and diplomatic treaties which
shaped the relationship between the United States
and the British colonies during this period, and the
rising awareness of local politicians that they needed
to play an augmented role in their own local defense.
Of the many consequences arising from this awareness
is the confederation of many of the British North
American colonies into a single Dominion which we
now call Canada.
