PORTRAITS IN THE TIME OF COVID

On
February 16, 2019 I decided to go back to basics: DRAWING.
I promised myself, do at least one drawing a day for a year.
Fast forward to November 2020; I’ve surprised myself
for having produced 919 drawings and now the day is not ended
without having drawn. Shortly after making my promise I discovered
a book entitled 200 Women by Geoff Blackwell and
Ruth Hobday; well photographed and each portrait accompanied
by a short bio and list of accomplishments. I’ve now
drawn 182 portraits and learned a great deal about some remarkable
women. The process also allowed me to explore different mediums:
pencil, ink ,watercolour, crayons and most of the materials
I’ve been hoarding in the studio. The journey has been
extremely satisfying not only because I kept my promise, sharpened
my skills and learned along the way but especially during
these trying times, the exercise has kept me focused . Posting
the results on social media has kept me in touch, virtually,
with my art tribe. I hope you enjoy the images.

This is a very disciplinary creativity challenge. Congratulations.
