Is Transylvania an actual geographical location or is it a state of mind populated by vampires and their victims? And how does Count Dracula fit into the facts and fictions?

Intrepid photographer Chantal Leveque was convinced the place was real. So with her new high tech digital camera, and wearing a fang-proof, metallic scarf around her neck at all times, she flew to Bucharest, the capital of Romania, and three hours later found herself in the enchanted province of Transylvania, where she discovered Old Europe at its very best, and landscape and architecture of the highest aesthetic order.

New Brunswick-born Chantal Levesque is a graphic designer and press photographer. She has worked for (in Montreal) Styles de Vie, VIA Destinations and Ricardo Magazine. From 2010-13 she was the Creative Director for the Canadian-branch of Reader's Digest. Since 2011, she has been a photographer at Arts & Opinion and since 2013, at Camuz.
